Child dead after drowning at Bear Paw Beach

CALEDONIA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 6-year-old child drowned at Bear Paw Beach in Caledonia today, on Aug. 27, according to police.

It happened at 5:47 p.m.

Fire and police crews discovered that she had been under water for an undetermined amount of time.

After life-saving efforts, she was taken to the hospital where she later died.

This is an ongoing investigation.
