Chicagoans Wait in Block Long Line in Blistering Temps for Sausages
CHICAGO (CBS CHICAGO) — Even for weather-hardened Chicagoans, there are very few reasons to actually be outside today.
Work, of course, would be one.
Sausages would be another.
Especially Hot Doug’s, which always draws a crowd.
And that was certainly the case for encased-meat fans on Monday when Doug Sohn launched a “pop up” event and Publican Quality Meats on Fulton in the West Loop.
By mid-morning, with wind chills around minus 15 degrees, the line stretched down the block as the doors opened at 10 a.m.
CBS 2’s Ed Curran was there.
Emily Miller reports the line was long but workers were moving folks along at a decent pace.
Worth the wait and the $9 cost for what Eater Chicago called “totally new creations.”
The meats and duck fat fries will be on sale until 6 p.m.
