Celebrate Milwaukee Day on 4/14

Our area code is 414, so on Tuesday, April 14th (4-14) we celebrate the great city of Milwaukee.  The 5th annual Milwaukee Day includes a full lineup of activities all around the city.

The celebration got started early with a park cleanup on Sunday at five city parks.  Participants were provided with supplies to pick up trash and clear brush at Washington, Mitchell, Harambee, Walkers Point, and Menomonee Valley parks.  The goal being making our city even more beautiful.

Milwaukee Day's festivities culminate in a city-wide happy hour Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at City Hall.  Those in attendance will get to sample new beers from Lakefront Brewery, taste test creations from Great Lakes Distillery, and chow down on Milwaukee themed foods from Simmer + Oscars.  The Bucks and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra will be providing entertainment.  There will also be a Milwaukee themed photobooth, a bell ringing and a ball drop.  The event is free and open to the public.

Following Happy Hour, the party moves to Turner Hall where Milwaukee's Hugh Bob & The Hustle will play with special guest Webster X and Greatest Lakes.  That show starts at 7:30 p.m., tickets are $10.

Many restaurants, businesses, and even the Brewers are hosting special discounts in honor of Milwaukee Day, so it's a perfect excuse to get out and enjoy the Brew City.
