MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Cedric the Entertainer joined us on Monday, May 5 to discuss the two-part season finale of CBS’s "The Neighborhood," airing Monday at 7 p.m. on CBS 58. The second half, titled "Welcome to Venice," was co-written by Cedric himself.

The longtime comedian and actor reflected on the growth of the series, now entering its eighth season. "You never know where you shoot a pilot, and you have an idea for a TV show. You don’t know how long it’s gonna last or run, and especially in this day and age," Cedric said. "But from the very beginning it felt like the right story to tell."

He also credited the cast, including Tichina Arnold, Max Greenfield and Beth Behrs, with helping the series thrive. “All these actors are great,” he said. “We’ve been really blessed to put that core group together.”

Looking ahead, Cedric voiced hope for more to come. “I want the people to petition,” he said. “I don’t need this to be season eight, the final season. We could do nine, 10, 11. So, all right now, write the letters! Write the letters to somebody!"

Catch "The Neighborhood" tonight on CBS 58 at 7 p.m.!
