Cedarburg man dies in car crash in Town of Fredonia

FREDONIA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 54-year-old Cedarburg man died in a single-vehicle crash early Monday, June 17 in the Town of Fredonia.

According to the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at around 4:23 a.m. when a 2005 Toyota Sienna van, traveling westbound on Shady Lane at a high rate of speed, crossed both lanes of CTH I and struck a stone retaining wall at Waubeka Union Cemetery.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both lanes of CTH I were closed for about three hours.

The crash remains under investigation, and the name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
