KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It's the end of an era for some music lovers in Southeastern Wisconsin.

One of the only stores where customers can still buy, sell and trade CDs in Kenosha is closing at the end of the month.

Candy Eisenhauer, a long-time musician, is preparing to say goodbye to CD Warehouse, the business she first built in 1996.

"I was here seven days a week, 12 hours a day, but who didn't want to talk about music seven days a week, 12 hours a day," Eisenhauer said.

Over the years it became CD DVD GAME Warehouse -- not just music anymore.

"A business like this, you always have to reinvent yourself. You always have to find new ways to keep it open," Eisenhauer said.

Eisenhauer did just that for more than a decade.

Eisenhauer told CBS 58 with streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music gaining popularity, it's become virtually impossible for her to keep the store open.

"A store like this cannot keep up with those, that kind of competition," Eisenhauer said.

That's why Eisenhauer made the tough decision to retire at the end of January.

She's selling everything in the store.

"I feel good about knowing that everything will go to a good home," Eisenhauer said.

Eisenhauer said there's still a desire for CDs in the streaming age.

"What I love about this place, and I've always loved about it, is the people that are coming here have a love for having it in their hands," Eisenhauer said.

Customers tell us CDs are just what they like.

"This sucks this is shutting down. I've been coming here for 20 years since I moved to Kenosha," Jeremy Schwarz, a customer, said.

Eisenhauer said she expects the store to close at the end of January, but the exact date may fluctuate depending on stock. Updates can be found here.
