CBS 58 News to expand weekend and morning newscasts

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- CBS 58 is happy to announce the expansion of its weekend and morning newscasts.

Weigel Broadcasting announced the changes on Friday. The weekend editions of the CBS 58 News at 10 p.m. will become hour-long broadcasts beginning on Saturday, Jan. 25.

“We understand that viewers are busy and need many different time periods to watch newscasts. With this expansion, we are giving them more opportunities to get the news they need,” CBS 58 News Director Kent Harrell said. 

Additionally, on Monday, Feb. 3, the CBS 58 Morning News will expand for an additional hour on WMLW from 7 a.m.- 8 a.m. Currently, the morning news on CBS 58 runs from 4:30 a.m. - 7 a.m.

“We are growing our news across our on-air platforms. This is an investment that pays off for our viewers as it allows us to provide more local news, weather, political coverage and community events for southeast Wisconsin,” Vice President and General Manager of Milwaukee's Weigel Broadcasting Co. station Mark Strachota said.

CBS 58 is seen on Channel 58, Spectrum/Time Warner Channel 1005, Spectrum/Charter 605, DirecTV 58, Dish Network 58, U-Verse 1005.  WMLW is seen on Channel 49, Spectrum/Time Warner 1007, Spectrum/Charter 608, DirecTV 49, Dish Network 49, U-Verse 1007.
