WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- This 4th of July was a day filled with red, white and blue celebrations.
In Wauwatosa, bands on floats and on their feet got the crowds going. Because of road construction, the parade took a new route, but the turnout was just as strong. Our own Amanda Porterfield and Chief Meteorologist Drew Burgoyne joined the festivities. Fireworks at Hart Park will launch at 9:15 p.m.
Natalie Shepherd saw a great crowd in Waukesha, with everyone cheering for the Dancing Grannies and 610 Stompers.
And up in Brookfield, Jessob Reisbeck and his boys were part of an impressive lineup of bands, floats, veterans and other local groups showing their patriotic pride. There's a family fest at Mitchell Park Tuesday evening followed by fireworks.
On the north shore, morning Meteorologist Justin Thompson-Gee waved to people in Whitefish Bay. Their always-festive 4th of July parade drew thousands to the village's quaint downtown. It ended at Klode Park for an afternoon of food, drinks, games and music that will be capped off with fireworks at 9:30.
And Justin's morning teammates, Alex Corradetti and Frankie Jupiter, were in Shorewood handing out candy.
