MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Firefighters had to tear through siding to put out a fire on Milwaukee's south side.
"The fire got into the wall on the front of the building, so that needs to be done to make sure we aren't here for a return fire or leave any smoldering behind. That's part of our overhaul process," said Andrew Timm with the Milwaukee Fire Department.
A house at 29th and Rogers caught fire before noon on Monday.
Firefighters say when they arrived, there was heavy smoke coming from the home. No one was home.
The Fire Department is still trying to figure out how the fire started.
