WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- There was a prayerful procession through downtown Waukesha Friday morning, part of a nationwide march by members of the Catholic church.
It's called the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, and they had a specific reason for choosing Waukesha's Main Street.
The marchers paused for prayers at a memorial to the victims of the 2021 attack on the Waukesha Christmas parade, an attack that left six people dead and dozens injured.
Organizers called Friday's procession a "moment of reflection and renewal" for the community.
This is also part of a larger march - Catholics are marching from America's north, south, east and west, and their processions will meet in Indianapolis in mid-July.
That's where they'll hold the church's first National Eucharistic Congress in 83 years.
