WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Wednesday was Catholic Memorial High School's 11th Annual Crusader Day of Service.
Hundreds of students, along with parents, teachers and staff, all took time to do a variety of jobs to help others -- whether it was preparing meals, making gifts, or delivering blankets to shelters.
The director of campus ministry, Mike Bichanich, tells us service is part of the requirement for graduation at Catholic Memorial, and this year, each of the school's sports teams are doing a service project.
"I'm one of the football coaches as well, we just got done doing a food drive as well," Bichanich said. "Just finished that off last week and then kids turn around and have to participate in something like this."
Catholic Memorial's school motto is a Latin phrase for "charity in all things," and they see this day of service as a demonstration of that.
