WAUKESHA, Wis (CBS 58) -- At Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha on Wednesday, Nov. 26, the school held their 12th annual Crusader Day of Service.
Over 600 students and staff participated in the activities focused on giving back to the community.
Held yearly on the day before Thanksgiving, Crusader Day is not just confined to one kind of service.
Students volunteered as bell ringers for the Salvation Army, helped lay wreaths for fallen veterans, completed projects for Children's Wisconsin, along with several other service opportunities.
"Service is so much a part of what we do all year round. Our athletic teams, our extracurriculars, of course NHS, Friends of Rachel, all are focused on service. Today is a day where we all come together, work with area community organizations, and give back," said Catholic Memorial High School President Donna Bembenek.
Crusader Day benefitting over 20 nonprofits and other organizations across our hometowns.
