MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Cathedral Square Park in Milwaukee is now Community Spirit Park for the holiday season.
More than 130 evergreen trees have been delivered to the park. The transformation is part of the 27th annual Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival, which returns late next month.
Milwaukee Downtown's Clean Sweep Ambassadors will install the trees. Greg Peterson, a Clean Sweep Ambassador, said the crew has been preparing for months.
"We've been ready for a long time," Peterson said. "For me, it's like 365 thinking about Christmas, preparing for Christmas and then eventually setting up for Christmas and then taking down from Christmas."
Nearly 100 schools and nonprofit organizations will decorate the trees in November. Each tree will represent a class theme or wish.
The Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival officially kicks off Thursday, Nov. 20 at Pere Marquette Park.
