Car hits Milwaukee County employee near 73rd and Silver Spring

A Milwaukee County Highway Maintenance Supervisor was hit by a car near 73rd and Silver Spring Rd. The Milwaukee County Executive's Office says the victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to the county, the employee was checking on conditions of the roads when he decided to help an elderly woman whose car was stuck in a snow bank. The county employee was hit by another vehicle while helping the woman get her car back.

\"The employee was trying to help someone in need and now he is in the hospital,\" said County Executive Chris Abele. \"This incident should be a wake-up call for everyone to slow down.\"

The driver who hit the county employee has been cited by Milwaukee Police.
