WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- After historic flooding temporarily shuttered Café Hollander Wauwatosa, the restaurant announced they will officially reopen at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26.

According to a news release from Lowlands Group, renovations extend far beyond flood repairs. The lower-level kitchen has been completely rebuilt and is fully equipped to serve brunch, lunch, and dinner with greater efficiency. Guests returning to the restaurant will also notice refinished flooring throughout both the main level and second floor, a refresh to both the men and women’s restrooms, a newly cleaned and polished bar and shined up accessories and appliances.

“Our team has put forth a herculean effort to get us to this point, and we are thrilled to be reopening this week," said Eric Wagner, CEO of Lowlands Group. "It might be the fastest full kitchen remodel in history, and we’re really excited for the community to see the new shine on Hollander. Over the last several weeks, we've been overwhelmed by the kindness, the helping hands, and the encouragement from the whole community, and we’re rolling out a weekend of celebratory fun and surprises as a small token of thanks.”

To welcome guests back, Café Hollander is hosting a celebration weekend.
