Butterflies Released at Zablocki VA Medical Center for those Battling Ependymoma

Butterflies are playing a role in the treatment of an often overlooked illness.

The butterfly release bringing a sense of hope and healing to those battling ependymoma, where a tumor forms on the nervous system.

It strikes often in children leaving them paralyzed. Something veterans who are now forced to use wheelchairs themselves can understand.

They organized Monday's event at the Zablocki VA Medical Center.

There are 2,100 people diagnosed with the nervous system disorder each year.
