Burned Kitten, Hot Rod, Soon Available for Adoption

Hot Rod, the kitten that came to HAWS with severe burns, is now getting ready to be adopted. He underwent his final medical procedure and will be fully recovered within the next week and a half.

His latest procedure was cosmetic surgery to fix the area under his arm and on his left side. The tightness from the scar tissue was restricting his movement, so our vet Dr. M. removed that area and says that he will have full mobility.

Hot Rod's foster mom recommends he go to a home with another cat. He is not the biggest fan of dogs so a fast-moving young dog is probably not the best for him since he still hisses at her dogs if they approach him and has even swatted at them. He is cuddly when he wants to be, but he does not really like to be picked up.

Those interested in adopting Hot Rod should complete one of HAWS' adoption applications either at the shelter or at online.

HAWS’ adoptions staff will then add the application to the list, and will contact prospective adopters in the order the completed, approved applications are received. Out of fairness to all who might be interested in adopting, HAWS asks that members of the public do NOT call in to be placed on the list without first having an application on file with HAWS.
