Building Heat & Storms

You will quickly start feeling the heat and humidity for Labor Day and into the early part of next week!  The jetstream right now is buckling north allowing southerly winds at the surface to develop.

Highs in the middle 80s will be felt on Monday thanks to a southerly wind.  Those winds on Tuesday go quickly southwest, and along with a mix of clouds and sun, temperatures should approach 90 degrees in Milwaukee!  We won't approach the record of 97, but highs will be some 15 degrees above normal.

Milwaukee averages 1 day in the 90s for the month.  The record of 9 days was set in 1931!

A front to our northwest will drop in for late Wednesday into Thursday.  This front will be the focus for showers and storms Wednesday night into Thursday morning.  There will be an isolated chance for a strong to severe storm Wednesday evening.

The cooler air comes in with a secondary front that arrives for Friday.  That will drop highs back into the 70s by next weekend, which is more seasonable for this time of the year.
