BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- When you step into the Divine Consign pop-up shop at the Brookfield Conference Center this weekend, you'll find dozens of racks of fashion.

Two women started Divine Consign 14 years ago as a small consignment pop-up, and it's grown to thousands of garments.

"We were looking for something to earn a little something extra for our families," said co-founder, Jessie Wrench.

Now, Divine Consign owners Jessi Wrench and Jessica Purtell host these consignment pop-ups four times a year at different locations around southeast Wisconsin.

"It's a transitional time of year. We're all thinking, 'What am I wearing today?' So, we have a little bit of everything. Whether you need a winter coat or a layering cardigan, or if you're going on vacation next week," said Wrench.

Their goal is to make shopping affordable and easy for all women.

"There's 10-year-old's who shop here, there's 90-year-olds that shop here," said Wrench.

Buying secondhand could prevent hand-me-downs from ending up in a landfill. The EPA reports the average American throws away 81 pounds of clothing each year.

If you'd like to sell with Divine Consign, registration opens up in April for the May event at the Waukesha County Expo Center.

The current event at the Brookfield Conference Center runs through Saturday. Friday and Saturday will be half-off days for shoppers.
