Bucks trade longest tenured player Ilyasova to Pistons

The Bucks parted ways with their longest tenured player Thursday, sending Ersan Ilyasova to the Detroit Pistons for Caron Butler and Shawne Williams.

Ilyasova had spent seven years with the Bucks, including every season since 2009-10. He has averaged at least 11 points per game in each of the last four seasons and is a career 37% three point shooter.

The move may turn out to be nothing more than a way to clear salary cap space, since neither Butler nor Williams has a guaranteed contract for next season. Butler is a Racine native who also played for the Bucks in the 2013-14 season.
