Bucks launch third season of NBA Math Hoops to help kids slam dunk their learning

Milwaukee Bucks

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Bucks are preparing for the 2025-26 season of NBA Math Hoops, an educational program that blends basketball with math learning for fourth through eighth graders.

Now in its third season with the Bucks, NBA Math Hoops is a Learn Fresh initiative that uses a basketball-themed board game, digital app and unique curriculum to help students strengthen algebra readiness, self-regulation and executive function skills.

Last season, more than 10,000 Wisconsin students and educators participated, altogether solving over 25.8 million math problems. Organizers say participating kids showed nearly a 30% improvement in math test scores from the previous year.

The free program is implemented in classrooms, after-school programs and home learning environments statewide.
