Brown Deer Police Officer in Court for Shooting Unruly Bus Passenger

A Brown Deer Police Officer charged with shooting and wounding an unruly bus passenger returned to court Monday morning.

Devon Kraemer entered a not guilty plea during an arraignment hearing.

Kraemer is charged with aggravated battery. If convicted, she would face up to 15 years in prison.

Last March, Kraemer and her partner were called to get an unruly passenger off a bus. Surveillance video showed Kraemer, her partner, and the man wrestling on the ground.

Kraemer says she could not see the man's hand and feared for her safety. She shot him in the back.

The man survived the shooting, but lost part of his lung.
