BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) – The show, "Hadestown", has 14 nominations in this year's Tony Awards and features a Wisconsin native.
Tim Hughes grew up in Brookfield and is now performing on Broadway.
“His dream from a young age on was to someday live in New York and be on Broadway,” Tim’s mom Karen said.
Hughes graduated from Brookfield Central in 2003 and went to New York University. He made his debut on Broadway in 2012.
CBS 58 morning anchor Mike Curkov spoke with Hughes via Skype from New York.
“Growing up in Brookfield, Wisconsin, I never knew what this life was going to be like of if I could really achieve being a full-time actor,” he said.
Hughes was also in "The Greatest Showman" and "Frozen The Musical".
You can see Hughes perform during the Tony Awards with the "Hadestown" cast on Sunday on CBS 58.
