Another day of showers before a dry weekend
Brookfield Police is looking for two suspects who stole over a dozen trees from a business on Greenfield Avenue last week.
The thefts occurred sometime in the early morning hours on March 27, police say. The suspects are accused of digging up and removing 12 arborvitae trees and two other flowering trees from a business in the 14100 block of Greenfield Avenue.
The tree's owner says the heist was well-planned. It took two trips and two hours to take all 14 trees. He also said the two bandits turned a security camera to keep from being seen. When they finished digging up the trees, they turned the camera back to the original position.
The owner says the trees are worth about $2,000. He hopes security footage will help catch the thieves.
After removing the trees the suspects drove off in a newer model light-colored SUV, possibly an Audi or Porsche that was towing a small utility trailer.
Police say one suspect is a male white or Hispanic, average height and build. The other suspect is the driver, but no description is available.
