This is the wreath that Brookfield Police Officers set up today to honor their fallen brothers and sisters.
Because National Police officers Memorial Day fell on Sunday, the department chose today to solemnly mark the occasion.
Sergeant Mark Tushaus laid the wreath before a rifle salute by Brookfield Police Officers and the playing of taps.
Members of the police department and the community quietly looked on.
Flags will fly at half-staff until sunset tonight to mark National Police Officers Memorial Day.
