Bronzeville Cultural and Arts Festival returns to Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Milwaukee's Bronzeville neighborhood came alive Sunday with the return of the Bronzeville Cultural and Arts Festival.

From 10 a.m.-6 p.m., North Avenue between Martin Luther King Drive and North Seventh Street was filled with local vendors, food and three stages featuring music and dance performances.

CBS 58 spoke with an 8-year-old attendee who summed up the day's festivities.

"What I liked about it is the clothes," the child said. "It's cool. Have fun. You know, feel good, having a nice day, living your life while you're a kid, having fun, part of life."

Sunday's festival was one of several events planned as part of Bronzeville Week.

The annual celebration of Black culture in Milwaukee began Saturday and continues with events throughout the coming week.
