Brewers win on wet night in Pittsburgh; wild-card magic number down to 5

PITTSBURGH - The Brewers survived a two-hour rain delay, then began pouring on runs in an 8-3 win over the Pirates Friday night.

The Brewers trailed 3-1 when the rains hit around 8:15PM Eastern time. Two hours later, the bats broke out with a six run sixth inning that featured home runs from Travis Shaw, Mike Moustakas and Erik Kratz.

Keon Broxton added a homer in the seventh to help seal the win, which lowers the Brewers magic number to clinch a wild-card spot to five. The Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-2 Friday night.
