Brewers trade for OF Parra

MILWAUKEE--The Milwaukee Brewers completed a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks before Major League Baseball's trade deadline, acquiring outfielder Gerardo Parra.

The team announced the move Thursday.

In exchange, the Brewers gave up minor league prospects Mitch Haniger and Anthony Banda.

“The addition of Parra gives us a veteran player who helps to balance our lineup and also brings Gold Glove defense,” Brewers General Manager Doug Melvin said.

Parra, known for his defense, is a two-time Golden Glove award winner (2001, 2013).
