MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - The Milwaukee Brewers will have a new logo and new uniforms in 2020.
The team made the announcement in a ceremony at Miller Park Monday, Nov. 18.
They are going back to the ball and glove logo from decades ago, with an updated look.
“This logo is a fresh take on an old look, it’s a tribute to our fans for their unwavering loyalty, support, and love,” said team owner Mark Attanasio.
Attanasio says the change reflects what fans want to see. “When I first became principal owner of the team in 2005, I was inundated with letters, emails,” he said.
“I’m excited,” said James Werwinski, who was one of many fans who packed into the Pro Shop to buy gear with the new logo on it.
He had a baseball and Keston Huira jersey, hoping the Brewers star would autograph both.
Henry Myers was with his mom at the shop Monday. He likes the new logo. “It feels like the same as last time but maybe a little bit stylish,” said Myers.
“The old ball and glove logo, I grew up with it, I’m glad they’re bringing it back,” said Werwinski.
The big event gives Brewers fans something to look forward to as we head into winter.
“I’m excited for baseball season, 4 months and 8 days away,” laughed Werwinski.
The Pro Shop was open until midnight Monday. Players were on hand for autographs.
The Brewers are offering specials all week on merchandise.
