Brewers Preview Plan To Give Back This Season

We are just one week away from opening day at Miller Park when the Brewers will take on the San Francisco Giants. But before the game gets underway the Brewers are celebrating all week long giving us a preview into their year ahead.

Monday, the Brewers Community Foundation gave insight into what projects they have planned.

One includes the Brewers wives hosting a basket raffle. And on August 14 pitcher Matt Garza will host a bowl-a-thon.

One of the larger projects the Brewers Community Foundation will work on is building a playground for META House. It's an organization that helps provide support for women and families dealing with substance-abuse.  They also deal with families whose children are in the child welfare program or had children removed from their care. On average META House reunites 30 families a year and the new playground will help bring those families back together.

“We are so excited that this beautiful new playground will provide a safe happy place for families to get to spend really important healing time to come back together,"  said Amy Linder, President of META House.

If you want to help the Brewers give back to the community they say the best way to do that is by purchasing a 50-50 raffle ticket. It's just two dollars at any home game. The money raised will be used to benefit META House this year along with the Brewers Community Foundation.
