Brewers Lucroy and Braun in the Running for All-Star Game

Jonathan Lucroy has moved into fifth place among National League catchers and Ryan Braun remains fifth among NL outfielders in the third All-Star balloting update, which was announced Wednesday.  Lucroy (60g, .307, 10hr, 31rbi, 2sb) leads all NL catchers in batting average (.307), hits (67) and slugging percentage (.528), and is tied for first in home runs (10) and triples (3). He ranks among the NL catching leaders in RBI (2nd, 31), on-base percentage (2nd, .366) and doubles (T4th, 12). Additionally, Lucroy has thrown out the most baserunners attempting to steal among all catchers this season (21-for-57; 36.8%). 

Braun, a six-time-All, Star, is batting .307 with 11 doubles, 11 HR, 36 RBI and five stolen bases in 54 games. Defensively, his six outfield assists rank tied for third-most among NL outfielders.
 
First baseman Chris Carter ranks among the National League leaders in HR (T3rd, 17), extra-base hits (T7th, 31) and RBI (T10th, 41). Shortstop Jonathan Villar (63g, .299, 5hr, 26rbi, 23sb) leads the Major Leagues in stolen bases (23) and is among the NL leaders in walks (T8th, 35), on-base percentage (10th, .388) and doubles (T10th, 16). He has reached base safely in 55 of his 63 games this season.
