MILWAUKEE - After two frustrating and saddening weeks both on and off the field, the Brewers needed a convincing win going into the All-Star Break.
They got exactly that with Sunday's 11-2 thrashing of the St. Louis Cardinals, a win that gives Milwaukee sole possession of first place in the NL Central going into the All-Star Break.
Elian Herrera's four hits were a career high. Wily Peralta threw seven strong innings, allowing just one run.
The All-Star Break begins Monday. Four Brewers are participating in Tuesday's All-Star Game in Minneapolis.
