MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- After clinching a playoff spot this weekend, Milwaukee Brewers Manager Pat Murphy read a letter to the team written by the late legendary announcer Bob Uecker.
"Told the big guys about you guys. You play hard every night. Not afraid to play for each other. He's obviously very interested in a group with this uncommon goodness. The fact that you have the best record in baseball - best road record in baseball has caught his attention. You don't really need me. I know you guys don't really need me, but I got to tell you I'll be on the headset every night watching and don't forget to take it all in. Enjoy it. Keep it light and believe in each other."
-Bob Uecker.
The letter went on to say Uecker missed the team and wished he was with them.
After reading the letter, Murphy made a toast to Uecker and his team.
According to the Brewers, the letter was actually written by Murphy as a way for the team to "remember, honor, and include Ueck" in the postgame celebration.
