ALLOUEZ, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Green Bay Packers fans across Wisconsin are quickly getting acquainted with Brett Hundley, the back-up quarterback thrust into a starting role with the injury to Aaron Rodgers.
On the football fields of northeast Wisconsin, the Allouez Buccaneers are a well-known powerhouse. The 8th graders haven't lost in more than three years thanks to a talented lineup and a group of volunteer coaches.
Running back coach Shawn Hennessy is known as Coach Hennessy on the field but just up the road he has a different name -- Pastor at Life Church.
"Brett and I have known each other for a couple years. When he came to the team he started attending our Bible studies on Wednesday nights," says Coach/Pastor Hennessy.
It was at Bible Study that Brett Hundley overheard a conversation about the Allouez Bucs.
"He approached me in the off-season and said he'd be interested in sponsoring the uniforms for the team. I said, 'Man, we'd love it.'"
Hundley agreed to purchase new pants and jerseys for the entire team, even letting the 8th graders design them.
"It's cool to know that all of us got to see what this was like to make them before we ever got to wear them," says LB/FB Isaiah Hennessy.
Hundley hand-delivered the jerseys before a recent game, a moment the young athletes won't soon forget.
