Brady Street closed Monday for repaving project

MILWAUKEE-- East side residents will want to avoid Brady Street Monday. The street will be closed from six in the morning to eight at night.

The closure runs from Farewell to Van Buren. That means no traffic or parking along Brady Street. The City of Milwaukee is doing a repaving project. Two inches of the pavement will be removed, and two inches of asphalt will be put down.

It's one of multiple repaving projects that will be happening in the city. To make things go faster, extra equipment will be brought in to have everything done by eight o'clock at night. The mayor says that way it will have less impact on the residents and businesses.

Many business owners we spoke with say they are happy to see the work done, and don't think it will have a major impact on their business's bottom lines.

Josh Malone, a bar owner says, \"This is a big neighborhood with a lot of foot traffic so we should be okay.\"

The city will also add a few decorations to beautify the crosswalks.
