PORT WASHINGTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The bomb squad was called to the Port Washington Police Department after a woman came in with a grenade she said she found in her garage.
According to Port Washington Police, the woman explained she and her husband were cleaning out their garage while preparing for a move and found the grenade and put into a white plastic bag. She then drove the grenade to the police department around 4:00 p.m. Monday so police could dispose of it.
An officer met with the woman and ushered her and the bag containing the grenade out of the building. Police made sure the grenade was a safe distance away from the building and restricted people from the area. The Milwaukee Police Department Bomb Squad responded around 5:35 p.m. and determined the grenade was a training grenade and presented no danger.
The scene was cleared around 5:45 p.m. and streets were reopened to traffic.
