Body pulled from Milwaukee River near Cherry and Water Streets

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A body has been pulled from the Milwaukee River. Multiple agencies were called to the scene near Cherry and Water Streets around 9:18 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24. 

The fire department says a person wearing a backpack was found. 

Milwaukee police say the victim is a 22-year-old. 

It's unclear how long they were in the water. 

The police department and coroner's officer are working to identify them. 

The cause of death remains under investigation.
