Bob Uecker documentary 'Ueck' opens in Marcus Theatres this weekend

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — After debuting at the Milwaukee Film Festival in April, the documentary "Ueck" is set to open for the public this weekend exclusively at Marcus Theatres.

CBS 58 welcomed "Ueck" producer Barry Poltermann and Team Lammi Agency's Mark Kass to discuss the film, which chronicles the life and career of legendary Milwaukee Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker.

The documentary spans more than six decades of Uecker's career, tracing his journey from a Major League Baseball backup catcher to one of the most recognizable personalities in sports. Known for his self-deprecating humor and quick wit, Uecker became a comedian, actor and the longtime voice of the Brewers, earning the nickname "Mr. Baseball."

Filmed during the final three years of Uecker's life with extensive behind-the-scenes access, the documentary features the broadcasting icon reflecting on his remarkable career, from baseball to Hollywood and the Brewers' radio booth, where he became a summer staple for generations of fans.

The film also explores Uecker's humility, resilience and enduring impact on baseball and American culture.

Following its theatrical release this weekend, "Ueck" will also be featured on a statewide tour beginning in August.
