MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Many gathered at the United Way volunteer center in Milwaukee to help celebrate Giving Tuesday.
United Way teamed up with BMO employees to assemble house and home kits filled with essential items for families in need around Milwaukee.
For Giving Tuesday, BMO had 60 volunteers helping out in Milwaukee and more than 1,000 across the country and Canada.
"This time of year, especially, you think about giving, Thanksgiving just passed and Christmas and the holidays coming up," said Don Erickson, of BMO. "This is a great time of year, and campaign such as it is, for demonstrating our generosity to the folks that we live and work with and the communities that we serve, more importantly."
BMO also announced a $3.3 million donation to United Way Community Fund and also the Educational Foundation for Women.
