Black bear cub hit, killed on U.S. 45 in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY (CBS 58) – A black bear cub was hit and killed on Monday, November 16 on U.S. 45, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say they were called to the northbound lanes of U.S. 45 near State Highway 145 around 11:45 p.m. for a report of a dead bear in the road.

The sheriff’s office says the driver didn’t report the incident or stay on the scene.

Authorities say they had been taking reports of a mother and two black bear cubs moving south through the county since November 9.
