MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee will host the third Black and Brown Run Around on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Veterans Park.
The 5K begins at 11 a.m. with check-in starting at 8 a.m. Organizers are aiming for 500 runners and walkers after 350 participated last year. All proceeds and donations benefit Lead2Change. Same-day registration is available.
Lead2Change Board Chair Marcus Taylor and event founder Carter Amundson, a financial advisor with North Star Resource Group, joined us on Friday, Sept. 12 to give us a preview. They say the event pairs fitness with financial literacy resources and features food trucks and local artists, a Kids Zone sponsored by Lead2Change and the United Community Center and vendors from Black- and Brown-owned businesses.
It was created to support and uplift Milwaukee’s Black and Brown communities.
