'Bite my lip and close my eyes': Green Day to perform at American Family Field

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- American Family Field is set to become a beacon for punk rock fans as Green Day, accompanied by the Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and The Linda Lindas, will grace the stage for The Saviors Tour on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024. This tour stop is a part of Green Day's extensive 2024 global stadium tour.

Green Day, with members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool, boasts a track record with over 75 million records sold worldwide.

Their 1994 album "Dookie" achieved 10x Platinum Diamond status and is credited with revitalizing punk rock, leading to a succession of #1 singles. Their politically charged rock opera "American Idiot" sold over eight million copies in the U.S., and their Broadway adaptation received both critical and commercial success.

The band's influence spans over three decades, earning them a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and five Grammy Awards.
