MANITOWOC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A bicyclist was killed in Manitowoc after being hit by car.

It happened around 3:39 p.m. on Monday on County Road XX near Herr Road.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a 27-year-old Manitowoc woman was driving eastbound on County Road XX when her vehicle collided with an eastbound bicyclist.

The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

He has been identified as 68-year-old Robert Hughes from rural Kiel. 

The crash remains under investigation.
