Beloit man sentenced to 25 years for Child Porn had Camera Hidden in Bathroom

(CHANNEL 3000) A Beloit man was sentenced Thursday for producing child pornography of a 5-year-old girl who was drugged. 

David Wenzel, 58, was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for producing child porn, officials said. The prison term will be followed by 20 years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty to the charge Oct. 28.

On March 26, members of the Rock County Sheriff’s Office searched Wenzel’s residence after receiving a report that he had a video camera hidden in his bathroom, according to the release. Officials seized DVDs and mini VHS tapes.

Investigators said there were eight videos of Wenzel sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl who appeared to be drugged. They also found videos of adults that had been recorded by the hidden camera in the bathroom.

A judge also ordered that Wenzel’s home be turned over to the government, because that is where he committed and the filmed the assaults, according to the release. The property is valued at about $260,000.
