Bell Ambulance EMT hurt in crash with MCTS bus out of the ICU

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Bell Ambulance EMT continues to recover after a crash involving a Milwaukee County Transit System bus near 54th and Villard on Dec. 7. 

Bell Ambulance says the MCTS bus crashed into their legally parked ambulance with its emergency lights at approximately 11:37 a.m. 

Two EMTs were hurt, one critically. 

According to Bell Ambulance, the EMT who suffered critical injuries has been transferred out of the ICU and is continuing his recovery in an inpatient room.

"We at Bell Ambulance are grateful for the outpouring of support from the community. As we get closer to Christmas our EMTs' continued recovery is the greatest gift we could wish for."

The crash continues to be investigated by the Milwaukee Police Department.
