MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- BBB Wisconsin warns shoppers and donors to stay vigilant during Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday.
Executive Vice President Andy Ketchum joined us on Monday, Dec. 2 to emphasize avoiding phishing scams, counterfeit websites and misleading deals. He advised using secure sites, updated antivirus software and credit cards for safer online purchases.
For Giving Tuesday on Tuesday, Dec. 3, BBB recommends researching charities to ensure they meet its standards for charity acountability. Donors should verify tax-exempt status and watch for similar-sounding organizations to avoid confusion.
More tips and resources are available at BBB.org and Give.org.
