MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new report is warning about a worldwide scam that targets corporations, governments, and consumers.
They're called "business email compromise" scams and losses are in the billions.
People with the Wisconsin BBB say the scam is being done to some companies you might not even think would be affected.
"So this is everywhere. Large business, small business, non-profits, municipalities, government agencies, it's all happening all over the country and it's happening every day," said Jim Temmer, President and CEO of BBB Wisconsin.
The BBB also says this scam is most likely to happen around the holidays when most people are out of the office.
