Bass Bay Beer Garden holds grand opening nearly 6 months after fire destroys popular Muskego restaurant
Muskego, Wis. (CBS 58) — It’s been nearly six months since a fire destroyed Bass Bay Brewhouse, a popular spot in Muskego.
But on Wednesday, June 3, customers were welcomed back to the area for the first time for the grand opening of the Bass Bay Beer Garden complete with food trucks and live music.
The garden is held in the same space where the brewhouse was.
While the restaurant said a fire inspection was unfortunately unable to provide the cause of the fire, they thanked the community for stepping up to help and for raising nearly $80,000 dollars in a GoFundMe for their family and staff.
Now the beer garden is the first step in their come back to the area.
“There was nothing here. No electrical, no plumbing, no refrigeration, no water,” said Co-Owner Ryan Oschmann. “Just so many little things that add up to such a substantial amount and we wouldn’t be doing it without the participation from the community.”
The beer garden is open Wednesdays through Sundays now until the fall.
Oschmann said construction to rebuild the restaurant is supposed to start in a couple of months with a reopening set next year.
