Barn Fire in Kenosha County

A rural Kenosha barn filled with 5,000 bales of straw, farm equipment and recreational vehicles was destroyed by fire early Wednesday morning. 

The Village of Somers Fire Department was called to the scene of the 3:45 AM fire in the 7100 block of 38th street. 

When first responders arrived, they found the barn fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters from Somers, Randall, Paris, Caledonia, Zion, Kansasville, Burlington and the Racine Fire Bells were on the scene throughout the morning. 

Kenosha County Highway S was closed for a time between State Highway 31 and County Highway EA until approximately 10 AM. 

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
