The University of Wisconsin will continue what’s become an annual March tradition with another appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
The Badgers have made the field of 68 for the 19th consecutive season, drawing a 8 seed in the East Region. Wisconsin travels to Buffalo for the tournament’s opening week, beginning with Virginia Tech on Thursday in the first round.
The game will air on CBS 58 with a start time of 8:40 PM central time on Thursday.
Coach Greg Gard’s first full season had its ups and downs, as Wisconsin was once a top-ten team on the heels of wins in 17 of 18 games. The Badgers lost five of six down the stretch, but bounced back to advance to the Big Ten Tournament’s championship game Sunday.
Wisconsin appeared in back-to-back Final Fours in 2014 and 2015, including a loss in the NCAA Championship Game to Duke in the 2015 season. They advanced to the Sweet Sixteen last season before losing to Notre Dame in Philadelphia.
